CK3 Trait IDs
Every trait ID for the add_trait and remove_trait console commands, searchable with one-click copy. To use these you need debug mode enabled and the console open. The syntax is simple:
add_trait brave
remove_trait craven Both commands apply to your own ruler by default; add a character ID after the trait ID to target someone else. For what each trait actually does — effects, cost, and category — see the traits database.
How to use trait IDs
With debug mode active and the console open, type add_trait followed by the trait ID to give your character that trait, or remove_trait to take it away. Leveled traits like education and congenital traits carry a number suffix indicating their level — education_martial_4 is a higher martial education than education_martial_1, and beauty_good_3 is the strongest beauty tier. Remember that debug mode disables achievements for the session, so save trait edits for experimental or non-ironman games.
Common trait ID examples
A few come up constantly. The education traits (education_martial_4, education_stewardship_4, and so on) fix an heir who was educated badly. The congenital tiers — intellect_good_3, physique_good_3, beauty_good_3 — are the genetic traits players most often add when designing a bloodline. And personality traits like brave, diligent, and ambitious reshape how a character behaves and what stress their actions generate. Search above and click any ID to copy the full command.
